University of Technology, Sydney has a rich history with numerous name changes throughout the years. The history of the university is reflected in the different architectural styles of all the different buildings on campus.

There is the iconic UTS tower, constructed in Over the years, more modern buildings have been added to the campus. The Dr. Chau Chak Wing Building is an iconic addition since has the distinction of being the first ever academic building to be designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry in Australia.

This building is home to the Business School. Advanced laboratories and super labs in the Science and Graduate School of Health Building facilitate research projects. The best resource on campus would be the UTS library. It is home to over , books, 93, journals and other media. Group study rooms, individual study spaces, areas dedicated to conducting research, as well as quiet study rooms are all inside the library.

Perhaps the most unique thing about this library is the Chinese Library, a gift from the Government of China. Library staff is available to help you with finding books along with a unique book retrieval robotic system. Students can choose from four residential buildings at UTS. Even though living off campus is usually cheaper, the location of the university in the heart of the city will make it just as expensive.

Living on campus does offer the advantage of getting more involved in the community. Yura Mudang: Shared apartments and studio apartments, along with shared community spaces for studying and recreational activities. Gumal Ngurang: Fully furnished shared apartments with up to nine rooms. Bulga Ngurra: Studio or shared apartments are available in the building, with a computer lab just for the residents. Geegal: Shared apartments for the students with furnishings as well as lounge spaces for studying.

UTS is heavily research based. Teaching and research are given equal importance and integrated into everyday teaching. Partnerships with top industries also helps to facilitate research in areas such as environmental science, health sciences, econometrics, business, as well as communication and intelligent systems.

The location of UTS is of course the biggest advantage when it comes to prospective employment opportunities. Internships and full time jobs are just a walk away when you apply to companies close to campus.
