It was just the fact that of 2 identical tables in the lobby, another had the smiley and the one I had just stood up from didn't. In the case that you are talking about, the table with the would have had less than 5 people there short handed. The table you were at must have had 5 or more people playing at the time you looked.

As soon as the table is not short handed, you don't recieve 2x points. They have certain times, usually late night or early morning, where every single ring game will reward double points. I hope this makes sense. Basically, this is a way for Full Tilt to encourage us to start more tables, resulting in more rake for them. Inevitably, the table will fill and proceed as normal, but now there's an additional table in play for rake purposes. Maybe it hasn't had that effect, maybe it has, but I think that is at least the aim from Full Tilt's point of view.
